Hey everyone.

I know that these mass-emails may be painfully long at times (snooze-ville), but please try to skim this one and rest assured that I will no longer send epic-lengthened emails.

THE BIG PICTURE

Following this email will be an e-invite for the class reunion barbecue with the time and location. It's important that I get a head count of who's coming and if you are bringing guests (ie. spouse, partner, children, family, friends &c.) so that I can plan the food according. Please, respond as soon a possible with a YES or NO and only MAYBE if you truly don't know at this time. If this changes, update your invite status or, if need be, email me directly (give me courtesy to know if your plans change). DO THIS AS SOON A POSSIBLE.

Keep in mind that the BBQ is the main event and it's my hope that we get everyone there regardless of any other events. I've already mentioned that I asked for someone to make a plan for an after event and, this is still planned and there may be still some details to iron-out. At this time, plan to meet on Saturday evening at 9:00p in Las Vegas. I'll confirm this soon and will let you know if any details change and/or alternative events emerge. Thank you for your patience.

Note that I'm asking each classmate to bring a few dollars to cover the cost of having the BBQ - this will likely be $7-$10 per classmate. I won't know the final amount until I get a better head count and after I purchase the food that morning. Unfortunately, we won't likely know until the day of, so plan on $10 per classmate knowing that it will likely be less.

DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF

Next week I'll be soliciting help by contacting everyone to see who can lend/provide various items for the BBQ (like a large water-cooler with lots of ice-water).

THE SMALL STUFF

Also, if anyone would like to solicit classmates to create photo board(s), memory blog, artifacts, time-line, &c. for the class blog/Facebook and possibly for the day of the reunion, let me know and I can set you up. This will be a great project for the blog/Facebook during the next few week leading up to the reunion. I know Stephanie has a little something in mind for the BBQ that'll be fun. and you might have an idea as well.

IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE

Now's the time to make those last-minute calls and stop-by to see those who are not on this email list who may not know all these details. There's plenty of people to seek-out and it's NEVER too late. So check the CLASS LIST to see who's not been contacted. Also, let me know if you've spoken to someone who's not on the contact list and you are aware if they plan to attend.

HOLLA AT ME

If you can't be here and would like to give a shout out to the group, please let me know I'll happily pass the message along. Naturally, you can always comment on Facebook or the class Blog. For instance, Joe Ball sends his wishes from Afghanistan as he is courageously serving our country in the armed forces, and Jordan Adams is sad she can't attend as she will be busy making jump-shots on the Canada's National Womens Basketball Team with prospect of playing in Beijing (of course). So if you can't make it, it'll be great to hear from you.

THAT'S ALL

Please be aware that I may not contact you during this week as I prepare for a grueling professional exam on Saturday. Afterward, you'll hear from me plenty...more than you'll want, I'm sure.

It's exciting to know I'll be seeing many of you so shortly and, call me nostalgic, I have a feeling that being reunited with our friends and peers unto itself will be a success no matter how the events play-out. Yes, I'm a sap.

SEE YOU SOON!!

Four Weeks 'till REUNION TIME

DETAILS DETAILS DETAILS

As I mentioned last time, we'll be extending the reunion throughout the day starting in the afternoon with family & friends at the park pavilion that will be followed later in the evening by a little mixer and social gathering.

That afternoon. June 13th, we'll gather with classmates, family and friends at the Overton Park Pavilion for some grilling and pot-luck. All are welcome to come and stay as long as you like - I'm working on a 1999-themed music extravaganza(!) and we may muster up some games of horseshoes and the like. Burgers/hotogs, buns, condiments, cups/plate/utensils provided and you bring a side-dish, salad, chip or desert. Only asking to chip-in a few dollars per classmate to cover hard-costs (hope to be in the range of $5-$10 but won't know 'till I get a head count).

As for the later event, details are coming together with the help of the very gracious Rhiannon Rimbey (many thanks for helping). We've been talking and she has been putting together suggestions for a place to meet-up later. This will be in Las Vegas and further details are soon to follow.

Hopefully this gives all of you enough information to finish confirming your plans. I'll be following-up with further details and an e-invite as well.

3,2,1...CONTACT

Yes, I know - this is starting to sound like a broken record.... We still have plenty more classmates to contact so don't stop looking. I know several are aware of the upcoming reunion but I still need their contact in formation. Also, if you have physical address to a classmate, please send them a mailer (you can now get is from the class blog - link below). And as always, check the list to see the current contact status: CLASS LIST

|| UPDATE || UPDATE ||

INPUT

I’ve talked to many of you and received some great suggestions. Quite a few have hopes of including families and creating an event that is open to all and informal, and many you have indicated that it will be nice to arrange a place to meet in the evening for conversation and drinks. Having both events appears to give everyone to a chance to participate and enjoy a reunion of friends and classmates.

After hearing from all of you, I’d like to do both as well. I’m working on revising plans to include an informal event for classmates and their families and a second event later in the evening. I’m committed to continue planning the first event; distance and personal commitments, however, make it difficult for me to plan the later event. To ensure a second event in the evening, I need someone to head-up planning this part. Please let me know as soon a possible who can do this and we’ll coordinate.

CONTACT

Thanks to may of you, I’ve added several classmates to my list class list. It’s exciting to see the number of contacts increase but, of course, there’s still more to add. Keep looking for those classmates we still need contacts for and let me know if you have information or can contact them yourselves. Class list link: CLASS LIST

BLOG

Also, if anyone would like to solicit classmates to create photo board(s), memory blog, artifacts, timeline, &c. for the class blog/Facebook and possibly for the day of the reunion, let me know and I can set you up. This will be a great project for the blog/Facebook during the next few week leading up to the reunion.

DETAILS

Last, I will be sending out and e-invite in a week or so to everyone to see if you can make it. Note that the day-time event will likely be around 1 and will be a very nominal amount per classmate to cover minimal costs. All details will be confirmed shortly.

June 13 is coming quickly and I’m looking forward to seeing all of you soon! So dust-off those year-books and get ready. As always, if you have any suggestions, give me a holler

CONTACTS

Since the last emailing, I've received several more contacts and many leads to finding classmates. Even still, there are many more classmates from which I have yet to gather contact/email information. Again, please take a moment and look at the contact list link below to see from whom I need contact information. If you know of somebody on the list, send them an email, given them a call, or contact someone who knows them. CLASS LIST

We have roughly 80 of 160 email contacts needed and will be using this list for current and future reunions. Your help is the only way we have a chance at reaching everyone, Thank you to those who helped thus far - greatly appreciated.

I've placed a second ad in the PROGRESS newspaper in this Friday's edition (image above) in another attempt to contact classmates and family/friends of classmates living in the valley. Please use the image in your blogs, on-line profiles/avatars (facebook, myspace, &c.), emails, &c.

SOLICIT INPUT

As the details start to come together, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Please send any suggestion you may have about the reunion event to the class email <99mvhs@gmail.com>. Depending on the suggestions, I may be asking a few of you to take-on a certain aspects.
